Recent Flare-Up or Sudden Back Pain

Sudden back pain can be frightening — especially when it limits movement

or causes sharp or nerve-type pain.

Most acute back pain is not dangerous, but uncertainty about what’s going on often leads people to do the wrong things at the wrong time.

That’s where proper assessment matters.

This page is for you if:

  • Your back “went” suddenly

  • You’re dealing with sharp pain, spasm, or sciatica

  • Pain came on after lifting, training, running, or a simple movement

  • You’re unsure whether to rest, move, train, or stop altogether

  • You’re worried you’ve damaged something

Guessing, Googling, or pushing through usually makes things worse.

What we do

We are a specialist back pain therapy clinic.

At The Back Specialists, we start with a thorough Initial Consultation, not generic treatment.

We assess:

  • how your back is moving and loading

  • whether the pain is mechanical, disc-related, nerve-sensitive, or protective

  • what actually needs attention — and what doesn’t

For some people, reassurance and guidance are enough.
For others, structured therapy and a recovery plan are needed.

You don’t have to decide that yourself.

The first step

The first step is an Initial Consultation.

This session is about:

  • understanding what’s driving the pain

  • knowing what to do — and what to avoid

  • deciding the safest and most effective next step

If further evaluation or treatment is needed, that’s explained clearly.
